I hear leaves drinking rain; I hear rich leaves on top Giving the poor beneath Drop after drop; ’Tis a sweet noise to hear These green leaves drinking near.
And when the Sun comes out, After this Rain shall stop, A wondrous Light will fill Each dark, round drop; I hope the Sun shines bright; ’Twill be a lovely sight.
Deep and Clear,
I hear the rain, inside many a heart
silent faces, pressing deep cries within
the beauty of the heart, in some, evident
I hear the dampness in the heart although
while the face, lit up like the Sun.
Your comment is a beautiful poem in itself, with a sadness for humanity’s sorrows… In Spanish we have a saying “We see faces, but we don’t see hearts”. Indeed, you may see smiles on the outside, and never know the pain that is within a heart…
Yes..Indeed. Seeing the beautiful poem, I was inspired to write a few lines. I am happy that you liked the lines. Do keep posting.. Thanks for your kind appreciation.
That is wonderful! It’s so important that we try to put into practice in our daily lives these precious teachings.🙏 I really liked the self- remembrance. Before I only did it sometimes, but now I am more mindful since I read your post! Thank you!
Fantastic picture of rain falling tepidly and when the sun comes out the light will shine ever so brightly. Lovely poem by William. You know Amira here in Mumbai we are having torrential rains and it has created havoc in our city. The place that I stay in was flooded for more than eight hours and everything came to a standstill. No electricity too for more than fourteen hours.
Oh wow dear Kamal! I hope you and your family are safe and things return to normal soon! Yes, Mother Nature is very powerful and can really create havoc as you said all over the world. Now is also hurricane and tornado season and big storms have been affecting many areas as well.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, may the sun shine through soon by you! 🙏
Yes all safe and fine with my family, Amira. My son too had taken our dog and had gone to pick up one of his friends but he could not come to the house and then stayed at my daughter’s house and came the next day when the waters went down. What a day but everything worked out fine the next day. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Yes would like to see the sun and its light now though rain is always welcomed.
Oh thank goodness dear Kamal that you are all safe!!!🙏 🙏 🙏
I can only imagine how that day must have affected everyone!
The sun shines always after a storm!!! 🙂 ☀️ ❤
