MYSTICAL POEMS: “A summons” by Rumi

images.jpg564

Listen.

In the silence
between your heartbeats
bides a summons.
Do you hear it?

Name it if you must,
or leave it forever nameless,
but why pretend it is not there?

Leave that which is not,
but appears to be.
Seek that which is,
but is not apparent.

—Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī

  1. True, seek that which is but is not apparent and not seen. This is where we all need to be. Lovely post, Amira.
