A quote from Neale Donald Walsch about “illness”

giphy.gif

Illness is not a sign of spiritual weakness, but of

spiritual strength.

When we fall ill there are some who will say, “Why

did you create that for yourself?” They might convince

you to see it as a sign of spiritual weakness or failure.

It is not. It is a sign of spiritual strength.

All challenges are a sign of spiritual strength, and of

the readiness of the Soul to move on;

to evolve even further.

  2. My dear Amira,

Illness is a pay-back, a small balance of what you sow you have to reap – it belongs to the law of karma: cause and effect. Sure, we have caused the reaction of what we have sown. Good things come back with good things and bad things committed return with bad things. Some karmic seeds have germinated in this life while others will find their way to “bloom” in future lives. There are endless possibilites of how karma fruit will have to be eaten…illness is just one among…

Thanks for sharing, dear friend Amira
    From heart to heart

    1. Dear friend, you have created a lot of different perspectives to be expressed here, and I am happy we can all expand our views and even agree to disagree with certain perspectives 🙂

      1. Yes, of course, dear Amira, and as we all have different experiences our point of view may also sometimes differ or be different (as everyone is unique). we all are sitting in the same school of life 🙂
Have a great time, my friend

  3. It is not “payback”! OMG That is just your belief system Didi – *your* righteous judgement. “Illness” is not some kind of punishment from the Universe to make us feel guilty that we have somehow done something wrong to “attract” it. That is all just the New Age perspective. Dig deeper Didi, to find the Truth. There is only Love and Grace… Sorry to leave such a strong comment on your blog Amira, but I couldn’t let this go… Humbly…

    1. Thank you so much for your comment dear friend! I am happy that this blog can serve as a forum & dialogue to express our different perspectives so we can all enlarge our views while “we walk each other home” (Ram Dass). In this way we can take a deeper look at the concepts we have been taught, and free ourselves from layers of limiting beliefs as we expand our consciousness. Much love and light! ❤

Sorry, I got carried away with this comment!… 🙂

I agree with you Amira, and find it so fascinating that the on-going dialogue fits perfectly with the quote..

‘When we fall ill there are some who will say, “Why did you create that for yourself?” They might convince you to see it as a sign of spiritual weakness or failure.’ – (Didi) karma to ‘payback’

‘It is not. It is a sign of spiritual strength.’ – (Mystic Meandering) ‘There is only love and grace.’

‘All challenges are a sign of spiritual strength, and of the readiness of the Soul to move on; to evolve even further’ – (Amira) ‘take a deeper look at the concepts we have been taught, and free ourselves from layers of limiting beliefs as we expand our consciousness.’

As you say Amira, we all have our different perspectives and they all add to the richness and diversity of life. As much as it is so wonderful that with the greatest majority of your posts we all agree on their wisdom, It is also good to have a difference of opinion going on, so that we can ‘listen’ and learn more from each other, and also experience the ability to see each other with respect for one another’s viewpoints.

Many years ago, when I first began to learn of the law of attraction, I upset my dearest friend by telling her that we all create everything in our lives, including illness. She never told me for many years how much this hurt her, as she had many health issues. My bluntness and lack of wisdom in explaining the concept is obviously something I regret, but we now laugh at the past, as she now understands from her own perspective how the law of attraction works. I also learned a great lesson from this and no longer ‘preach’ my truths to my loved ones (even though I can so clearly see how they are creating some of the things they do not want in their lives). Instead, I live my truths, surrounding them in love and light, ready for the day when they come to me with any questions. – And, of course, I have many volumes of poems for them to read when they are ready!!! 🙂

My thoughts and beliefs have changed over time, in the past I believed fully in karma as in Didi’s perspective, but now I see it as only one aspect of the many ways we use to experience, learn and grow.

I now choose to believe that we are sparks of God and therefore can create whatever we need to expand, which might include an illness and certainly could include paying back a karmic debt if we believe that is our way to grow. But, I believe in a God of Unconditional Love, so if God views that we are unconditionally forgiven for whatever wrong-doings we perceive to have done in this life or any other, then, it is only we who choose to practice life-time ‘karma,’ maybe before birth we might choose a life of illness for the experience we desire to learn from, or to be a teacher to others who will walk with us along the way.

Many people speak of ‘waking up’ when they experience life-threatening health issues, and although I have been blessed with good health compared to so many, I know from my own experiences that many life and spiritual lessons can be learned through health problems. It is certainly a powerful way to acknowledge and use our God-given creative power!

I agree with Mystic Meandering that ‘there is only love’ for that is what we truly are. Living that truth is ultimately what we are here for, and illness is just one of the many ways we tend to block the ever-present flow of LOVE.
Love, Light & Blessings to you all ❤

        1. Dear Trina: Thank you so much for sharing your perspective on this and I fully agree with you . Only at the Soul level or our Higher Self perspective we may truly know what lessons we chose to live through to learn, expand and grow. Nothing is really black and white as we perceive in a world of duality, as the Buddhist teach for this reason is best to practice non-judgement. As you said, many great awakenings have occurred from life threatening illnesses, and even whole families might change their dynamics, some who may be distant find new closeness when a a loved one is in danger, selfishness is put aside, and Love & unity becomes the driving force. I have seen this in my years of nursing…
I also agree with you and Mystic Meandering that guilt and punishment are fear based concepts, and that there is only Infinite Love and Grace….
We can chose fear or we can chose love… Thank you my dear friends for sharing your perspectives and your light ❤
