Every minute of every hour of every day, life begins
anew. That means everything can change in an instant.
It also means you can have a new beginning
whenever you want.
Why put off for one day that decision you’ve been
pondering…aren’t you just putting life itself on hold?
You will not have to think but a second to know
exactly why you received this message today.Β
So true Amira,
Just read about you being a retired registered nurse, so am I. Worked 39 years from age 16 starting as a cadet nurse for 2 years, 3 year nurse training, 1 year midwifery training, staff nurse and ward sister on a geriatric ward and remainder of my career as a Health Visitor working in different areas of north west England & Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.

Oh wow!!!! You really dedicated your whole life to nursing dear Margaret!!! You started so young! This was truly your life calling! β€
Is not a career for everyone, it takes a very special dedication but in a way it transforms your life! When your heart is in it, is a true blessing!
I am so glad to hear we shared a similar path π From nurse to nurse and heart to heart: have a Happy and blessed Easter! β€ Amira

What type of nursing did you practice Amira?

I also did a few things through the years, including geriatric work combined with general duty nursing, then for many years I worked as a psychiatric nurse providing counseling for the Center for Addictions & Mental Health (in the hospital) & the out -patient clinics (in Toronto), specializing in chronic & severe mental illness.
Later on, worked as a resource team of nurses for hospital & clinics’ staff, organizing educational events, nursing conferences, journal clubs, etc, in liaison with pharmaceuticals (this was a job which required a lot of traveling as well). π Finally, I worked as a coordinator for the infusion therapy clinics. This already sounds like a resume LOL π

I donβt think blog messages anywhere near covers the depth and quality of any nurses work. As Health Visitors we often said we could write a book Amira.
This is what I would like to do and have the bare bones of it already incorporating allsorts.

Oh Margaret!!! What a wonderful idea! I think it would be amazing for you to write a book! You are so right, there is so much to capture and a book would be a perfect way to share those experiences.
Truly, nursing can take us into so many different paths, each one is rich in experiences, while we touch so many lives, we also go through our inner growth & transformation.
I will be rooting for your book! Any idea what the title would be?

Yes Amira, on all counts. I will perhaps work on the journey leading to the title π
