POEMS: “Be with those who help your Being” by Rumi (from a previous post)

light beings

Be With Those Who Help Your Being

Be with those who help your being.
Don’t sit with indifferent people, whose breath
comes cold out of their mouths.
Not these visible forms, your work is deeper.

A chunk of dirt thrown in the air breaks to pieces.
If you don’t try to fly,
and so break yourself apart,
you will be broken open by death,
when it’s too late for all you could become.

Leaves get yellow. The tree puts out fresh roots
and makes them green.
Why are you so content with a love that turns you yellow?

  1. An Apt image for the words said.
How true it is to be with those who bring the same wavelengths and maybe more of peace and tranquility.👏👌

  2. Thank you for your feedback! I find a lot of wisdom & inspiration in Rumi’s poems, and it’s so true! We need to surround ourselves with positive like minded people to thrive, to share life’s experiences , and to live more peacefully.

  3. Beautiful and apt picture and perfect words said by Rumi. Why associate with people who let us down and are not on our wavelength. Nice poem.
