My Footprints In The Sand

Affirming The Classics: based on Footprints In The Sand (author unknown)

One night I had a dream.
I dreamed I was walking along a beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
one belonging to me, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of my life flashed before me
I looked back at the footprints in the sand
I noticed that sometimes along the path of my life
there was only one set of footprints.

Then I realized that it was when I moved closer to the Lord
and our footsteps combined, that I was happier.
These were the times in my life I felt an abundance of love, gratitude and peace.

The Lord said to me:
“You are my beloved, precious child of the Light.
I Am with you now and forever,
but you always have freewill to follow your own path.
My footprints are there beside you, to guide you, if you choose.
No matter what, I will always love you unconditionally.

Thank you for sharing Amira. This one is much closer to the original than my other version ‘Footprints Of Light,’ but I hope it conveys that we hold the power to choose to walk in His Footprints, we don’t need to be carried. But, whatever we chose we are loved unconditionally.

    1. Yes, we are no longer in kindergarten, as we grow up spiritually we can start taking our own steps following our inner compass and knowing guidance is always there for us. A perfect poem for our times! ❤
