I like this prayer because it brings to our awareness the breathtaking beauty of our mother earth and all its inhabitants, the miracle of life, the magnificence and splendor of the mountains, the oceans, rivers, valleys and deserts…. the trees, flowers and plants… the stars, the immensity of the Universe and the diversity of life forms, from the tiniest insects to the majestic and largest animals.

It reminds us of the emotive beauty of a sunset, the tranquility of a spring rainfall, the mighty power of thunder that humbles us. It reminds us to appreciate and respect the gifts that are freely given to us each day.

Let Me Walk In Beauty

O Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds
and whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me.
I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty
