Desiderata in Latin means: “things that are yearned for or desired”, in this poem it could be interpreted as things to strive for or essential things.

American writer Max Ehrmann (1872-1945) wrote this poem in 1927 even though it’s sometimes believed to have been written as earlier as 1692 because the Reverend Frederick Kates included this poem in a compilation of materials of devotional nature for his congregation of the Saint Paul’s Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Always loved the song! Such inspiring words, especially the chorus. I know this is a very popular poem as (along with Footprints In The Sand) it is the most searched and downloaded from my shop. Thank you for re-sharing Amira, it’s always great to read and hear it again!
    Love, Light & Blessings ❤
