Recommendation:

The Rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 15 other bloggers for this award.
6. Comment on each blog to let them know you’ve nominated them and a link to the post you created.

A brief story of how my blog started:

I was not even aware of the thoughts that led me to start my blog until my sister in law asked me: “why did you decide to start writing a blog?” I am not even sure what my reply was then but the question resonated in my mind as I pondered and rehashed the reasons for a while. I knew that my mom had written a journal since she started dating dad, so I have a life legacy from her with all her diaries through all the years since before I was born until a few weeks prior to her passing. Going through her diaries, I have a chance to to see life through her eyes, her perspective and her experiences.

I started blogging as a way of “testing the waters”, an experiment of sorts. Little by little I discovered that since my first blog in May 2016,  this has become an enjoyable new hobby for me. It gives me the opportunity to read and connect with , friends , family and other bloggers, which end up becoming new friends all over the world. It also provides me with an environment where I can share my thoughts and  experiences, favorite poems, inspirational stories, and even some nice food recipes, that have inspired me, given me strength and comfort through my life’s journey. Most recently, over the last couple of weeks, I started experimenting with writing a few poems in Haiku style, which I am also greatly enjoying.

I found that a blog crosses barriers, man-made limits and borders such as religion, ethnicity, gender or sexual, social, and cultural boundaries.

We forget the flags that divide us and instead we feel that we are truly citizens of planet Earth! We find a common ground, common interests, and we can express our humanity without wars but in peace and solidarity. We can express our concerns, perceptions, feelings and experiences while being sensitive, respectful, caring and interested in others’ points of view.

My Advice to Beginners:

  • Write about what inspires you and touches you personally, chances are that you will find your post will resonate with others, and you will have a chance to also learn from other’s experiences.
  • Be passionate, it’s a labor of love, and a great source of enjoyment if your heart is in it. It will get your creative juices flowing in ways you may have never thought possible before.
  • Read other author’s blogs, and connect with their authors through your comments. Chances are that they may also become interested in reading your blog as well.
  • When you make comments, keep them friendly and supportive, we are all on this journey together, why not make it a pleasant and encouraging environment?
  • When you find a post that really touches you and you would like to share it with others, go ahead and re-blogg! You will give an opportunity to your readers and followers to see something different. You will also give new bloggers a chance to get more readership and exposure to their new blog. Finally, you may even attract new readers as well, that’s the beauty of sharing with others, all the good vibes go around! 🙂

How wonderful to read about how you began Amira, your writing is so full of wisdom and that’s such great advice for other bloggers, beginners or not! I look forward to reading some of your Haiku poems (I hope you are going to share with us all???) I did have to look up what they are though, lol. And that list is now a good source for me (and others) to find some more great stuff to read from like-minded people. Thank you for presence and all you’ve done.
    Love, Light & Blessings always

  4. My dear Amira

Thank you so much for your words that have touched my heart. Yes, we are all one and so we can treat us: as brothers and sisters in Oneness. Each of us can contribute to a better world and when we treat all our brothers and sisters also in the real world with respect and, patience and harmony – then a big change will really come in this world. So, my dear bloggers, blogger family, let us put our hands, heart and heads together for this aim: for a better world – let us not be just friendly in our virtual community but let us put everything in practice as we treat us here, as we treat us there (in our real world) with the same attitude: Respect, friendliness, harmony, patience – this all will bring us closer together and together we are not only many, but we are ONE

Thank you so much, my dear friend Amira
    Hugs from my heart

    1. Dear Didi! Getting to “know” you through your beautiful, spiritual blog was another blessing for me! You are a great source of inspiration,& wisdom! I fully agree with your comments, what is safe to do here in the virtual world, let us put it into practice and carry the love and inspiration, the kindness and respect out into the “real world” as well, where we encounter more difficult challenges. but where Light is needed most. In Oneness and gratitude, Amira

      1. Thank you very much, dear Amira 🙂
Yes, the real world is really challenging. We all have this divine light in us which needs to be digged out from the depth of our own being and this is really not easy with honesty and strictness towards ourselves we can lift the blankets of the mind that has darkened this light in us and honesty goes along with consciousness. The greatest adventure is to discover the human being in us – we all are in the making…

Thank you so much my dear friend 🙂
        In Oneness and gratitude

  6. Story of the start of my blog: I never wanted to start a blog. It was family and friends that convinced me to. They said start a blog because I have a lot to say. So I decided to start one and just see how it goes. Just from the first post, I was hooked. It got more fun once I started getting comments. My blog is supposed to be a musical theatre and spiritual blog at first, but it evolved into being mostly a musical theatre blog, but I do blog about other things every once in a while so that way people can know other things about me. So my blog really began because people convinced me to.

About your tips: Agree on them- I will say what mine are

    1. Comment on other blogs
    2. Write about what your passionate about- that is why one of my main topics is musical theatre
    3. Stay consistent
    4. Keep up with your followers- if they comment, comment back
    5. Enjoy your blog
    6. Be patient- not all blogs grow quickly, I have a blog that grows slowly

    1. Thank you for your feedback! I agree with your tips as well. I believe it is so important to keep up with those who take time to make a comment on your blog, to reply is the least we can do, and it can mark the start of a beautiful friendship.
Also writing about your passion definitely is the fire that ignites inspiration. You are lucky to have had the encouragement of family and friends to get you started on your blog. They could see your gift and passion, which you discovered after your first post, with the joy and fun you experienced. That is a beautiful story! You were wise to follow their advise 🙂 Keep enjoying and following your passion in each one of your posts! Sending joy your way, Amira
