Wisdom thoughts:

  • To forget the mistakes of the past
and to press on to the greater achievements of the future.

  • To wear a cheerful expression at all times
and give a smile to every living creature that you meet.

  • To give so much time to improving yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.

  • To be too large for worry, too noble for anger,
    too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

  • To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world
not in loud word but in great deeds.

  • To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side,
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

  2. “To give so much time to improving yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.”

This is so key. I believe that if we were all living up to our true potential in life, we wouldn’t feel compelled to criticize each other so often. There is more than enough goodness in life to go around, and criticism often seems to come from a place of jealousy. If we give ourselves to creating our best lives, we would have no room for jealously—and no time for it, either!

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to contribute with your comment! Indeed, I agree with you! If we turned our mirrors back to ourselves when we see errors in others, our world would change very quickly!!! There is a quote that I like from Rumi that says:
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”
