Oh, music is the meat of all who love,
Music uplifts the soul to realms above.

LOVE POEMS: “As a perfume”
As a perfume doth remain
In the folds where it hath lain,
So the thought of you, remaining
Deeply folded in my brain,
“ADVICE FROM A CAVE” (“Consejos de una cueva”)
Breathe deep
Mind beauty in unexpected places
Search inward
POEMS: “Opportunity” by John James Ingalls
If sleeping, wake; if feasting, rise, before
I turn away. It is the hour of fate, And they who follow me reach every state
PET POEMS: “I only wanted you” (pet loss)
I ONLY WANTED YOU
They say memories are golden well maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
Inscribed on the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor: “The new Colossus”
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles.
POEMS FROM CHINA: “Look it cannot be seen” by Lao Tzu
Look, it cannot be seen – it is beyond form.
Listen, it cannot be heard – it is beyond sound.
LOVE POEMS FROM GREECE: “Ode to a loved One” by Sappho
For, while I gazed, in transport tossed,
My breath was gone, my voice was lost;
ROMANTIC POEMS: “I dreamt” by Rabindranath Tagore
I dreamt that she sat by my head, tenderly ruffling my hair with her fingers, playing the melody of her touch
POEMS: “Nostalgia” by Joseph Anderson
I sit on my back porch and hear Those lonesome turtle doves. Sweet memories ever flood my mind, Of long lost dreams and loves.
CLASSIC POEMS: “We grow accustomed to the dark” by Emily Dickinson
We grow accustomed to the Dark –
When light is put away –
As when the Neighbor holds the Lamp
To witness her Goodbye –
I visited an enchanted 800 year old forest…
It is magical, with giant ferns and moss growing on old branches, and trees so wide you could not hug with both arms opened, and so tall that touched the sky.
