Photography… a mystical experience

IMG_2305_FotorI am attracted to photography because in the pursuit of your subject you become more aware and observant of the environment around you and you start to see everything with a different angle and a special focus. You naturally start to take the time to discover the best view and perfect lighting. You stop and wait for as long as it takes for that swift hummingbird in flight to be able to capture its beauty in a fleeting second.DSC00476_Fotor

You develop patience, persistence but above all, you feel inundated with a deep sense of serenity and peace. You find yourself absorbed by the moment and time seems to stand still. You and your subject become one; everything else is suspended in silence. For a moment there is a magical gap between our thoughts, a cease of the ongoing inner chatter and in the stillness we the observers, become one with the observed,  a magical moment in which we blend in oneness with the Universe.DSC00475_Fotor

They say “a picture is worth a thousand words” and it surely does provide a creative outlet for expression and storytelling. A picture not only conveys what you see with your eyes and your camera but also it can convey your internal world, some of your emotions, feelings, memories and deepest hopes.DSC00427_Fotor

I don’t’ know the rules of composition and photography, I just enjoy it! You don’t have to be a professional dancer to enjoy moving freely to a song you love, or a musician to be touched by music, or a great swimmer to take pleasure in immersing yourself in water or just walking barefooted by the shore. We can just appreciate these activities for the pure fun and joy they bring us as if we were once again carefree children at play. How long has it been since you did something you truly enjoy?  Grab this moment, don’t let it slip away!

Great pictures of the humming birds and the puppy looks like he/she is ready for their close up!

Your writing is so competent! Have you considered writing a book of your knowledge and experiences?

I think you were very well ahead of me on this one. 🙂 I only took (and thoroughly enjoyed) photos of my children and grandchildren until beginning my website in 2010. Then began to take nature photos in 2011 to use for quotes. But of course, once I began this it changed so much in my life.

By the way, I’d love to see a photo of your mum as an adult, and your father too. And while your at it, a pic of you as a child 🙂 I love photographs!!!
    Love, Light & Blessings

    1. I will have to start digging those old photo albums and scan some for you LOL.
Thank you for the encouraging words! Who knows,
I am open to the possibilities!!!
